UK Copilot Studio agent development for Teams and SharePoint
We build custom agents your staff can use where they already work, grounded in your content and limited by your permissions. Builds start from £999, with a fixed quote after a free call.
In short
Copilot Studio agent development means building custom AI agents that run inside Microsoft 365, answering from your SharePoint content and acting within your permissions. APPS 365, a UK publisher of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 apps, builds them for Teams and SharePoint, from £999, with a fixed written quote.
When Microsoft 365 is not yet paying its way
You already pay for the platform. The gap is usually between what it can do and what your staff do with it.
Copilot licences were bought, but few people use them.
An agent built for one real job gives staff a reason to open it, in the place they already work.
Staff cannot find answers buried in SharePoint.
An agent answers from the sites and libraries you choose, and can point to the document behind each answer.
You worry an agent could surface sensitive files.
We check what is overshared first, limit the agent's sources and test it under ordinary staff accounts.
Nobody in-house has Power Platform skills.
We build and document the agent, show your team how it works, and can support it under terms set in your quote.
What you gain from a custom agent
In Teams, where people ask
Staff can ask a question in a Teams chat rather than hunting through sites or emailing a colleague.
Grounded in your content
The agent works from the SharePoint sites, libraries and other sources you approve, not from whatever it finds online.
Your permissions still count
We design each agent so people reach only what they are allowed to see, and we test that with real accounts.
Able to act, not only answer
Where the job needs it, an agent can start a Power Automate flow, log a ticket or update a list, with approval steps where you want them.
Ownership agreed up front
We settle who owns each agent, who may change it and how it is reviewed, so it does not become another unmanaged tool.
What a Copilot agent project includes
The scope goes in your written quote. Most projects include:
- A written description of the agent's job
- A choice of approach: declarative agent, Copilot Studio agent or custom build
- A review of the SharePoint content and permissions it will use
- Agent design: instructions, knowledge sources, actions and limits
- Testing with real questions and ordinary staff accounts
- Publishing to Teams, SharePoint or Microsoft 365 Copilot
- Guidance for your admins and staff, plus agreed support
Copilot, Copilot Studio and declarative agents explained
The names overlap. We choose the simplest option that does the job, and we will say so if you do not need a custom agent at all.
| What it is | When it fits | |
|---|---|---|
| Microsoft 365 Copilot | The assistant built into Microsoft 365 apps, working across each user's own data | General help with writing, summaries and finding things |
| Declarative agent | A version of Copilot with its own instructions, knowledge and actions, running on Copilot's own engine | A focused helper for a team, such as answers from one SharePoint site |
| Copilot Studio agent | An agent built in Microsoft's low-code tool, with its own topics, connectors and flows | Conversations with steps, connections to other systems, or staff without a Copilot licence |
| Custom build | An agent with its own code and your choice of model | Work that goes further than Copilot Studio allows |
Agents we can build for you
These are examples of custom work, not products. We do not sell ready-made agents: each one is built for your content, your rules and your people.
| Example | What it could do |
|---|---|
| HR questions | Answer questions on leave, expenses and benefits from your approved HR documents, and point to the source |
| IT helpdesk | Deal with common questions, collect the details and raise a ticket for anything it cannot solve |
| Policy Q&A | Give staff answers from current policies only, with a route to a named owner |
| Onboarding | Guide new starters through what to read, who to meet and what to complete |
Licensing in plain terms
Two costs are easy to mix up. Microsoft 365 Copilot is a per-user licence. Copilot Studio is charged separately, based on capacity or use, so an agent can carry a running cost of its own.
Microsoft sets and changes these terms, so we do not repeat its prices here. Check Microsoft's own pricing pages, and we will work through what your agent is likely to need on the call.
Keeping agents away from the wrong documents
An agent is only as safe as the permissions beneath it. If a sensitive file is shared too widely, Copilot and agents can surface it to people who were never meant to find it, so we look for oversharing before connecting an agent to your content.
We limit each agent to named sources and agree who looks after it once it is live. If you want to start on your own, a free 10-point SharePoint check before Copilot is at apps365.ai/guides/copilot-oversharing.
How we build a Copilot agent
- 1
Free scoping call
We pick one useful job for a first agent and look at where the answers and data live.
- 2
Written fixed quote
You see the scope, price and timetable in writing before work begins.
- 3
Content and permissions check
We review the sites and libraries involved, and flag anything shared too widely.
- 4
Build and test
We build the agent and try it with real questions, signed in as ordinary staff rather than admins.
- 5
Publish and support
We publish it to Teams or SharePoint, show your team how to look after it and provide the support agreed in your quote.
Our own Microsoft 365 products
Both are our own apps, not client projects. They are the reason we look at permissions first.
What a Copilot agent costs
Custom AI builds start from £999, and a fixed quote follows the call. Monthly running costs apply too. Microsoft licences and Copilot Studio capacity are separate from our price and set by Microsoft, so we point out what your agent is likely to need.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Microsoft 365 Copilot and a Copilot Studio agent?
Microsoft 365 Copilot is a general assistant inside Microsoft 365 apps, while a Copilot Studio agent is built for a specific job. The agent has its own instructions, knowledge sources and actions, and it can be published to places such as Teams.
How much does Copilot Studio cost?
Microsoft sets Copilot Studio pricing, so check its official pricing page for current figures. It is generally charged by capacity or use rather than per person. Our build work is a separate cost, from £999.
Can a Copilot agent use my SharePoint documents?
Yes, a Copilot agent can use SharePoint sites and libraries as knowledge sources, and you choose which ones. We check the permissions on them first, because the agent's answers are only as well controlled as the access behind them.
Can I build an agent that lives in Teams?
Yes, agents can be published to Microsoft Teams so staff can chat with them there. SharePoint is another common home. We will suggest where it fits, based on where your people already look for answers.
Do I need Copilot licences for users?
It depends on the type of agent and what it uses. Some agents need each user to hold a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, while others can run on Copilot Studio capacity. Confirm current terms with Microsoft.
Do you sell ready-made HR or IT agents?
No, we build custom agents only. The HR, IT helpdesk and policy examples on this page show what can be built around your own content and rules.
Who maintains the agent after handover?
Your team can, or we can, and the arrangement is agreed in your written quote. Agents need occasional care because documents change and Microsoft updates its products.
