Microsoft 365 Copilot training for UK teams
Hands-on sessions built around your own documents, meetings and email, so people know what to ask Copilot and what to check.
In short
Microsoft 365 Copilot training teaches staff to use Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams for their actual work, including good prompts and safe handling of company data. APPS 365, a UK publisher of Microsoft 365 apps, runs this training, tailored to your roles and priced after a free call.
Why Copilot licences sit unused
Buying Copilot is the easy part. The hard part is making it a habit for people who are already busy.
Licences are paid for, but people stop opening Copilot after the first try.
Sessions start from tasks people do every day, so they leave with something they can use the next morning.
Staff do not know what to ask, so the answers disappoint.
We teach prompting through their own work: give context, name the source, then check and refine the result.
People worry about what Copilot can see.
We explain how it follows permissions, and what to do when someone finds a file they should not be able to open.
Generic courses rarely connect to anyone's actual job.
Examples come from your roles and, where you allow it, your own SharePoint and Teams content.
What your people get
Examples for each role
Finance, HR, sales and operations use Copilot differently, so the examples change with the room.
Practice on real content
Where you allow it, we work with real SharePoint and Teams content rather than made-up files.
Prompts they can reuse
Each role leaves with a short set of prompts, which you can keep and add to over time.
Safe habits
What to check, what not to paste into other tools, and when to ask a person instead.
Champions if you want them
We can give a few keen people extra time, so colleagues have someone nearby to ask once the session ends.
A way to see what changed
We can agree what to watch, such as Microsoft's Copilot usage reports, so you can judge the value yourself.
What a programme can include
You choose what suits your teams, and the final outline goes in your written quote:
- Copilot basics: what it is, what it can see and how to check its work
- Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, using tasks from your roles
- Prompting practice with your own examples
- A governance and data safety module for staff and managers
- SharePoint and Teams basics, if people also need help finding and sharing files
- General AI awareness for staff who do not have a Copilot licence
- Prompt sheets and short guides to keep
What people practise in each app
This is a starting outline. We change it to suit the work your teams do.
| App | What people practise |
|---|---|
| Outlook | Summarising long threads, drafting replies and catching up after time away |
| Teams | Recapping meetings, pulling out actions and finding what was agreed |
| Word | Drafting from existing files, rewriting for a new audience and summarising |
| Excel | Exploring data and writing formulas, then checking what comes back |
| PowerPoint | Turning a document into a first draft and tidying slides |
| Copilot Chat | Asking questions across work content and tracing answers back to the source |
Training, adoption or a permissions check?
Training is one part of getting value from Copilot. If your permissions are untidy, deal with those first, because Copilot answers from whatever a person can already open. The free 10-point SharePoint check in our Copilot oversharing guide on apps365.ai is a simple place to begin.
If you need a full rollout plan, with pilots, measures and communications, see Copilot Adoption. This page is about the training itself.
How we put a session together
- 1
Free call
Tell us who needs training, which licences you hold and what worries you. No obligation.
- 2
Written quote
The outline, format, group sizes and price are all in writing before anything goes ahead.
- 3
Tailoring
We collect examples from each role and agree which of your content may be used.
- 4
Hands-on sessions
People try Copilot on real tasks and ask the questions they would not ask in a large webinar.
- 5
Follow-up
Prompt sheets and guides stay with your teams, and we can look at usage with you afterwards and suggest what to cover next.
We publish Copilot tools of our own
We have no client training stories to share. These are our own products, not client work, and they deal with the same Copilot questions your people will ask.
How training is priced
Training is priced after a free call, with a written fixed quote before work starts. The figure depends on how many sessions and groups you need and how much tailoring is involved. We do not publish a per-person rate.
- Free 30-minute call first
- Written fixed quote before work starts
- Outline agreed in your quote

Frequently asked questions
How much is Copilot training per person?
We do not have a published per-person price. Training is priced after a free call, with a written fixed quote before work starts, based on the sessions, group sizes and tailoring you need.
How long is a Copilot workshop?
It depends on what you want covered, so the length is agreed in your written quote. A general introduction and a hands-on session for one role need different amounts of time, and shorter sessions spread out often suit busy teams.
Is Copilot safe to use with company data?
It can be, if your permissions are in order. Microsoft 365 Copilot works within what each person can already open, so files shared too widely can appear in answers. Training covers this, and GovernPoint, our own app, finds and fixes SharePoint oversharing.
Do you train on-site or online?
Tell us what suits your teams on the free call, and the format is agreed in your written quote. Whichever you choose, people need to practise on their own accounts, so we plan the session around that.
Is the training generic or tailored to us?
It is tailored. We start from a common outline, then change the examples and depth to fit your roles, your licences and the content you are happy for us to use.
Do staff need a Copilot licence to attend?
For hands-on practice in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams, yes, each person needs a licence. Staff without one can still learn the general habits of prompting and checking, which we can cover as AI awareness.
Will training give us a return on our licences?
It can help, but we will not promise a figure. Licences only pay back if people use them, so we suggest agreeing a simple measure before you start, such as Copilot usage in Microsoft's reports, and reviewing it afterwards.
Does the training lead to a Microsoft certification?
No, this is practical workplace training built around your own work. If your people need a formal Microsoft exam, Microsoft publishes its own learning paths for that.
